There has been a lot going on since the demise of gospel singer ‘Osinachi Nwachukwu‘. Several persons have had a lot of things to say about her death. All we can say is, it’s well!

Controversial discoveries surface over the demise of the “ekwueme” crooner
The discoveries allege that the popular Nigerian singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, has been going through a series of long-term marital and physical, life-threatening abuses in the hands of her husbands.
Asu Ekiye, a renowned niger delta artiste and one of the leading stakeholders of the Fellowship of Gospel Music Ministers Of Nigeria (FOGMMON), has in a Facebook post, called for the arrest of the husband of the singer of what is making rounds over her death is true.
A Friend of late Mrs Osinachi Nwachukwu of Ekwueme fame has come out to say that the gospel musician died as a result of domestic abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband. According to her, he hit her hard some weeks back and she was rushed to the hospital where she stayed 5 days on life support before she gave up the ghost. She also said that there was a time he tied her and instructed her children to cane her. He has since been arrested. Her friend’s name is Chidinma Ego.

When the demise of Osinachi Nwachukwu broke last night, I called a few people very close to her to make confirmation and I was told that the ugly news was true, she was on life support for a while too.
I remember telling Samuel Chieke and my friends last night that Sister Osinachi Nwachukwu was a soft-spoken woman, extreme humble but you see her husband? Real trouble!
December 2020, I was organizing the Nkwerre Carnival, we had big Gospel acts coming through, from Evang. Chinedu Nwadike to Chinyere Udoma and Sister Osinachi Nwachukwu etc, we were settled on charges for everyone except Sister Osinachi Nwachukwu.
While over the phone with her, she wasn’t interested in the money, she wanted to minister to the available crowd, she was just particular about us providing a vehicle that would move her from Nkwerre to another program she had that night, we agreed and then she referred me to her husband who acted as her manager to finalize, the man was rude, saucy, gave a price and said if we were not ready to make that payment he would end the call.
I wouldn’t want to go into other things that transpired and finally, we couldn’t have Sister Osinachi minister at that Carnival.
Some days after, Sister Osinachi called back and was asked for an update, I told her what has happened, she wasn’t happy but she couldn’t do anything about it, she was scared of her husband, that wasn’t respect, she was scared of that man.
I just hope the whole domestic abuse issue isn’t too true and she died of throat cancer as reported by some quarters, but if it was her husband who sent her to meet her creator at age 42, he should be arrested and made to rot in jail.
This is one death too many!
