Phil Thompson is a gospel singer and songwriter from Boston, Massachusetts. He was a member of the popular urban contemporary gospel group Ashmont Hill before embarking on a successful solo career with the release of his debut album, My Worship, in 2018.
A worshipeader at Jubilee Christian Church, Thompson has been singing since childhood, but he didn’t begin writing his own songs until turning 30. In addition to his solo work, he has composed material for JJ Hairston, Jubilee Worship, and Ashmont Hill, the latter of whom released three studio albums before calling it quits in 2013. His 2018 debut was released via JJ Hairston’s Jamestown Records.
